On Monday, summarizing the results of the government's weekly operational meeting, the Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, once again addressed the heads of municipalities and instructed them to improve the areas around schools by September 1.
“This year, more than 519 thousand children will go to school. We discussed the basics with the teaching community at a meeting on education in Sterlitamak. I have a simple request for the heads of municipalities: the area around the school must be put in order. Pedestrian crossings, lighting, fences - everything must be done,” said Radiy Khabirov.
Over the past two years, 140 schools for 37.6 thousand children have been renovated in the republic under the program of major repairs and equipping of comprehensive schools. Regarding the amount of money received for these works, Bashkiria ranks third in the country and second in the number of school buildings renovated. Such a large-scale and comprehensive renovation of the school education system is being carried out in Bashkiria for the first time in history.
Five more schools will open in the republic after major repairs on September 1: the school in the village of Usak-Kichu (Bizhbulyaksky district), Bashkir Republican Boarding School No. 3 (Kumertau), Sterlitamak Boarding Lyceum No. 2, the school in the town of Krasnaya Bashkiria (Abzelilovsky district), and Ufa School No. 119.
And that's not all. By September 1, 2025, 25 more schools undergoing major repairs as part of a two-year cycle will be repaired.
In total, 1.8 billion rubles were allocated for the project's implementation in 2024, including 1.48 billion rubles from the federal budget and 282.6 million from the Bashkiria budget.
Work in this direction will be continued. Thus, in mid-July, Bashkiria submitted an additional application to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation to repair schools in 2025, 2026, and 2027. In total, 360 school buildings will be restored during this period. In addition, an application has been prepared for the major repair of kindergartens for 2025-2027.
