Envelope with Shaimuratov’s monument image in Ufa has been put into postal circulation

A stamped envelope with an image of the monument to the Hero of Russia, Major General Minigali Shaimuratov in Ufa has been put into postal circulation.

On the eve of the anniversary of the famous Soviet military leader, a ceremonial cancellation of the envelope with a special postmark with the name of the legendary commander of the 112th Bashkir Cavalry Division took place at the Ufa post office.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Irek Sagitov and Director of the Regional Administration of Russian Post Lenard Shafikov. According to tradition, they signed the envelopes and took a commemorative photo.

Envelopes can be purchased at post offices in Ufa and the Republic of Bashkortostan. A special stamp can be placed on postal items at the Russian Post Office in Ufa, Lenin Street 28.

Let us recall that Minigali Shaimuratov was born in the Ufa district of the Ufa province in 1899. He devoted his entire adult life to serving in the Red Army.

During the Great Patriotic War, he commanded the 112th Bashkir Cavalry Division and participated in the Battle of Stalingrad and many other battles. During the Kharkov defensive operation in 1943, he heroically died. In 2020, Major General Minigali Shaimuratov was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation.

Bashinform reported that a presentation of the Bank of Russia's commemorative coin "450th Anniversary of the Founding of Ufa" was held earlier at the National Bank of Bashkiria branch.

The commemorative coin was put into circulation on June 3, 2024 in the "Cities" series. The coin is made of 925 silver, its denomination is 3 rubles, and circulation is 3000 pieces.
