Earth has emerged from the solar plasma cloud, magnetic storm is over - Space Research Institute RAS
The magnetic storm is over, the geomagnetic situation has stabilized, the Space Research Institute reports.
The disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field lasted more than a day, the storm reached its maximum values (G4 - very strong) on August 12 between 15:00 and 18:00. It caused the polar lights observed last night in Bashkiria.
The Earth's magnetic field is currently calm. On the afternoon of August 13, the planet emerged from the solar plasma cloud.
Nevertheless, scientists warned that the risks of new flares and emissions in the zone of the Sun's influence on the Earth have not been eliminated and will remain at a high level for at least another 2-3 days.
