"Boy with a Kuray" fountain and square will be renovated for Ufa’s 450th anniversary

Improvements are ongoing in Ufa's Oktyabrsky district. As part of preparations for the capital's 450th-anniversary celebration, Said-Galiyev Boulevard and the square in front of the fountain "Boy with a Kuray" is being renovated.

Excavation work and paving have been carried out. Outdoor lighting and a video surveillance system have been installed. A children's playground, small architectural forms, and landscaping have been completed. Work continues: installing curbs, laying paving slabs, preparing the base for asphalt concrete, installing an automatic lawn irrigation system, backfilling black soil, and dismantling asphalt at the junction with Oktyabrya Avenue.

The fountain itself is also being reconstructed. The reinforced concrete bowl and pipes have already been installed. Work is underway to face the bowl, which will be completed within a month.

In addition, according to the press service of the mayor's office, with the blessing of Metropolitan Nikon of Ufa and Bashkortostan, the Church of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius on Komsomolskaya Street will be reconstructed. The wooden structure, which was in an emergency, has already been dismantled, and the foundation has been installed.

Thanks to a local developer, Mazhit Gafuri Park on the side of the State Circus is being transformed. The improvement covers 8 hectares. New paving stones, granite curbs, landscaping, small architectural forms, lighting, playgrounds, benches, and a dog-walking area make the territory comfortable for walking and spending time.
