Bashkortostan Ministry of Health noted positive dynamics in ambulance service

Tatyana Aksyutina

The Deputy Minister of Health of Bashkortostan, Elena Galimulina, participated in a round-table meeting on the ambulance service the day before. The participants discussed current issues of the service and the results of joint activities.

"I would like to note the positive dynamics: more than 22% of patients with acute coronary syndrome undergo thrombolytic therapy by ambulance specialists, which helps save lives. The target indicators for a 20-minute drive to accidents and for delivering patients to trauma centers are being met. In addition, over the past six months, the number of personnel in the ambulance service has increased, which has improved the staffing rates and the availability of medical care for the population," Elena Galimulina informed.

The chief freelance specialist in ambulance services of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Ayaz Kamalov, emphasized that the service's work in the republic is organized at a high level. According to him, the salaries of ambulance workers and social payments are made in full by the decrees of the Russian government.

"For a young specialist to remain in the ambulance service, it is necessary to provide decent working conditions and develop a mentoring system. Whether a paramedic will remain in the profession depends on how the team accepts him," said Ayaz Kamalov.

According to Ildar Gilyazov, the director of the Ufa Medical College, 211 graduates received a second specialty in "emergency and urgent care" this year, and 126 of them have already been accredited.

"These are ready young personnel, and employing and supporting them is important. This is our common goal," he noted.

The event was attended by representatives of the trade union of healthcare workers of the Republic of Bashkortostan, heads of medical organizations that organize inter-municipal emergency medical care departments, of which there are nine in the region and employees of emergency medical care substations. The Deputy Minister of Health of Bashkiria emphasized that only through joint efforts in the republic will it be possible to improve the quality of medical care and increase its accessibility for the population.
