On July 31, there was a long delay in the Aeroflot flight to Moscow in Ufa. According to preliminary data from the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office, the departure was delayed from 20.55 to 03.15 local time the following day due to the late arrival of the aircraft from another flight. The fact is that the plane, which was performing the Moscow - Ufa flight, made an emergency landing in Samara. At Kurumoch Airport, the aircraft in which the smoke detector in the rear compartment was activated was replaced. There were 179 passengers on board. The landing was successful.
After the reserve aircraft arrived, flight No. SU1258 on the Moscow—Ufa route departed from Samara and arrived at the destination airport on 01.51.
The supervisory agency reported that "184 passengers were registered for the Ufa—Moscow flight. During the waiting time for the flight, the airline provided passengers with services by federal aviation regulations.”
