Flag dedicated to Ufa's 450th anniversary was delivered to North Pole

A flag dedicated to the 450th anniversary of Ufa was delivered to the North Pole, said Olga Odinokova, chairman of the Ufa Public Chamber, who was part of the expedition on the nuclear icebreaker “50 Years of Victory”. The famous traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and the commander of the atomic icebreaker “50 Years of Victory,” Ruslan Sasov, put their signatures on the flag with wishes to the people of Ufa.

“The mayor allowed us to deliver a flag to the North Pole, which marks a significant date - the 450th anniversary of our capital. We talked with Fedor Filippovich. He congratulated Ufa on its anniversary and conveyed good wishes to all city residents,” said Olga Odinokova.

The Ufa administration's press service added that one of the main goals of the expedition was to set world records. Thus, Fyodor Konyukhov and pilot Igor Potapkin took off from an ice floe in a paraglider, flew 440 kilometers in difficult weather conditions, and landed precisely on the North Pole. This is the first time anyone has flown in such latitudes and distances by paraglider. Another record was a 50-kilometer race at the North Pole on the deck of an icebreaker. Vladimir Voloshin ran the distance in 5 hours 26 minutes. Four more people ran a half marathon along the icebreaker - 21 km.
