950 thousand people underwent medical examination in 6 months in Bashkiria

Today, the government of Bashkortostan held a meeting to discuss the progress of preventive medical measures. According to the Prime Minister of the Republic, Andrey Nazarov, over the past six months, more than 950 thousand residents of the region have completed them. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers recalled that every year, 70% of the republic’s population, which is over 1.8 million people, should be covered by preventive medical examinations. At the same time, paying particular attention to working-age citizens is essential, as Andrey Nazarov emphasized.

“Based on the clinical examination results over six months, over 189 thousand cases of the disease were identified for the first time among residents of the republic. The most common are circulatory system diseases, respiratory organs, and malignant neoplasms. More than 258 thousand people will be additionally examined, and 610 patients will receive high-tech assistance,” said Andrey Nazarov.

Since this year, an industrial medicine center has been operating in Ufa based on city hospital No. 13, where UEC-UMPO employees receive comprehensive medical care. More than 1.8 million people work at large enterprises in the republic; about 32% of workers are in hazardous industries. Six mobile medical complexes were purchased at the end of 2023 to conduct medical examinations. In addition, a competence center for promoting workers' health has been created.

“134 corporate health promotion programs have been launched in the republic. Their goal is to actively attract workers to a healthy lifestyle, identify diseases in the early stages, and, ultimately, improve the quality of life. Long-term economic effects include increased labor productivity, reduced costs, and increased resources for development. Our task is to turn medical examination into a high-quality and comfortable service, to promptly examine newly identified patients, organize their medical observation, and, if necessary, inpatient treatment,” said Andrey Nazarov.
