Bashkortostan deputies adopted amendments to law on silence

Deputies of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan adopted the law “On Amendments to Article 5 of the Law of the Republic of Bashkortostan “On Ensuring Citizens’ Peace and Silence.” As reported by the press service of the regional parliament, the law clarified specific provisions that relate to disturbing the peace of citizens at night in connection with sports and other games.

“Current legislation prohibits making noise at night when playing games in residential areas. You cannot whistle, shout, or use sound-amplifying devices at night. The law did not cover noisy games in residential areas, although the players violated the silence and interfered with people’s relaxation. The new law eliminates this gap and prohibits holding such games at night,” said Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Belarus Konstantin Tolkachev.

An exception is made for mass events organized by decision or with the consent of state authorities or local governments.

Following the law “On Ensuring Citizens’ Peace and Silence,” night time means the period on weekdays from 23 to 7 o’clock and on weekends and non-working holidays—from 23 to 9 o’clock.
