State Duma approved bill on working pensioners' pensions indexation
State Duma deputies at a plenary session adopted in the first reading a bill on the resumption of indexation of pensions for working pensioners, the parliament's press service reported.
It is expected that from 2025, insurance pensions of working pensioners will be indexed annually on an equal basis with the pension provision of those who left work. Implementing the proposed legislative changes, considering the annual procedure for indexing the insurance pension and the fixed payment, will require additional budgetary allocations. In 2025, they will amount to 96.45 billion rubles; in 2026, 177.03 billion; and in 2027, 260 billion rubles.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, proposed resuming the indexation of pensions for working pensioners from February next year. He added that from February 1, 2025 onwards, pensions will be increased annually for those who have already retired and continue to work.
