More than 53 thousand residents and guests gathered for Sabantuy in Uzbekistan

The grand opening of the Sabantuy holiday took place on the main stage of the Central Park culture and recreation park in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan, Oleg Malginov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ural Kilsenbaev, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ilnur Mukhyanov, Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustambek Kurbanov.

Ural Kilsenbaev conveyed warm greetings and wishes to the people of Uzbekistan from the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan. He noted that jointly holding the Sabantui holiday significantly contributes to developing cultural traditions and relations between our republics, which confirms that we have a deep spiritual connection with the Uzbek people.

More than 53 thousand residents and guests gathered during the big holiday. A bright, colorful concert program with the participation of masters of art from Uzbekistan, Bashkortostan, and Tatarstan, amateur ensembles, and performers of the Bashkir Public Cultural Center did not leave anyone indifferent to the artists. Bashkir performer ZAINETDIN created a sensation on the stage; the audience did not let the artist leave the stage for a long time. Alsou Bakhtieva, Aigiz Khashimov, Damir Taipov, and the folk dance ensemble “Amanat” also participated in the festive concert.

A unique feature of the current Sabantuy was the participation of representatives of the National Archives of the Republic of Bashkortostan. They held a master class on drawing up a pedigree. During the event, unique books that can help compile a genealogy were also demonstrated, and the work of the Basharkhiv project was covered in detail.

Visitors participated in sports competitions and traditional Sabantuy games, such as kuresh, weight lifting, arm wrestling, running with an egg in a spoon, and running in sacks.
