On June 3, at the House of the Republic, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov held another thematic meeting in the “Transport Hour” format. At it, they discussed the issues of preserving water resources and developing river transport in the region, as well as the press service of the chapter reports.
Participants noted that these areas are interconnected and require an integrated approach to developing program measures. Thus, Marat Aktuganov, head of the Belsky district of waterways and navigation, a branch of the administration of the Kama basin of inland waterways, believes that the critical task is to increase the fullness of the main navigable rivers. In this regard, it is necessary to clear river beds and combat their shallowing.
The deputy head of the Kama Basin Water Administration, a branch of the Federal Water Resources Agency, and head of the water resources department for Bashkortostan, Vitaly Tyur, drew attention to the need to reduce the negative impact of anthropogenic factors. Among other things, we are talking about optimizing the extraction of sand and gravel mixtures in river beds and using water resources by industrial enterprises. In addition, the expert community is discussing the feasibility of constructing some engineering facilities on rivers - a cascade of supporting dams and reservoirs.
The head of Bashkortostan instructed the republic's government to analyze the experts’ assessments and, within a month, submit proposals on the most effective measures to preserve the region’s water balance.
Another issue on the agenda is the development of river transport in the republic, primarily in the Ufa water area. The meeting participants discussed options for modernizing the ship fleet and berth infrastructure and developing digital services.
The head of the region was also instructed to submit proposals in this part.
