Time capsule will be opened in Ufa on June 12
A time capsule laid in 1974 will be opened in Ufa's anniversary year. According to the city hall's press service, a ceremony will be held on June 12 at the Friendship Monument to extract and open the time capsule.
The message to descendants from previous generations was laid down 50 years ago, in the year of the city’s 400th anniversary. The secretary of the city committee of the Komsomol, Valery Izhorsky, proposed the idea of the capsule. According to contemporaries' memoirs, the capsule resembles a scroll about half a meter long. They chained her in an iron body cast in Bashkiria.
