State Duma expanded benefits for Russian Heroes

At a plenary meeting, deputies of the State Duma adopted amendments to the law “On the status of Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of the Russian Federation and Full Knights of the Order of Glory” to expand benefits for the provision of land plots. The law will allow spouses, children, and parents of heroes and full holders of the Order of Glory to inherit the right to receive a land plot.

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the law will allow spouses, children, and parents of heroes and full holders of the Order of Glory to inherit the right to receive a land plot.

The speaker of the Russian parliament also clarified that the plots will be provided to the heroes free of charge and without compensation.

In addition, the law establishes a one-time benefit of 20,000 rubles for family members of heroes who died after February 24, 2022, including heroes of the Russian Federation who were awarded the title posthumously.

A widow or widower, parents, children under 18 or 23 years of age if they are full-time students, and disabled persons from childhood over 18 years of age - each family member from these categories will receive such a benefit.
