Responsibility for involving children in criminal activities will be strengthened in Russia
State Duma deputies have adopted the amendments to the Criminal Code, which will strengthen the responsibility for involving children in criminal activity. If the bill is finally adopted, the perpetrator will face a significant term of imprisonment, ranging from five to eight years.
The document provides for criminal liability for involving a minor in committing three or more crimes of minor or moderate gravity.
Currently, punishment is imposed for involving a minor in a criminal group or the commission of a grave or especially grave crime, as well as crimes motivated by political, ideological, racial, national, or religious hatred or hostility or motivated by hatred or hostility towards any social group.
