Ufa mayor spoke about festive events on May 9
Ufa is actively preparing to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The city administration has planned various festive events. The head of the city, Ratmir Mavliev, spoke in more detail about the events on May 9 at the operational meeting of the government of the Republic.
On May 9, from 1 to 7 p.m., a festive concert will be held on the square in front of the State Academic Russian Drama Theater. A patriotic program has been prepared to honor the feats of people in the Great Patriotic War and support the guys on the front line today.
In addition, Ufa will host more than 20 sporting events dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. More than 5 thousand people will become their participants.
The city organized a festive decoration of streets and squares to prepare for the holiday. The road network is being repaired, and road markings are being applied. War memorials, monuments, and mass graves are brought into proper condition—cleaning and washing them is organized.
The graves of the Great Patriotic War participants were cleaned in city cemeteries not visited by close relatives.
