Vadim Kharisov returns from China to Bashkiria with gold medal

The International Mendeleev Olympiad, held in Shenzhen (China) from April 22 to 26, ended with great success for the Bashkir schoolboy Vadim Kharisov and the Russian national team.

At the end of the competition, the Russian team showed excellent results: the country won 5 gold and 5 silver medals. Vadim Kharisov, an 11th-grade student at the Republican Engineering Lyceum-Boarding School, was among the winners.

During his four years of study at the Association of Teachers of the Olympiad Movement (ANOD), Vadim became a three-time winner of the final stage of the All-Russian Chemistry Olympiad for schoolchildren and a gold medalist at the International Mendeleev and World Chemistry Olympiads. The Association's activities are based on the experience of the people's teacher of Russia, Liza Kiyamovna Agadullina. ANOD mentor Ainur Gumerov became one of the leaders of the Russian team.

“The Olympics, of course, were again at the same level. China is simply unforgettable. The tasks are even more interesting than last year. I'm pleased with my results. Preparing for the Olympiads, I participated in many schools, particularly summer and winter, from ANOD. This is paying off. I want to thank you all for your support! Thank you! I want to come home to my family as soon as possible and relax,” the young chemist shares his thoughts.

It should be noted that participants from 26 countries gathered in China to identify the best. They competed in three stages: they solved the most complex problems in two theoretical rounds and demonstrated their skills in the laboratory in the experimental round.

All gold medalists were invited to the Mendeleev Congress, which will take place in the fall of 2024 in the Sirius federal territory.
