At a joint press conference, representatives of the Bashkiria Committee for UNESCO and the Scientific and Practical Center for Bioresources of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed an agreement of intent on cooperation in sustainable development. This cooperation is expected to make it possible to effectively implement joint projects, exchange specialists, and hold forums, seminars, conferences, and other events.
The parties discussed possible areas of cooperation; in particular, the development of geoparks is promising. Thus, in Belarus, territories that fit the concept of geoparks have already been identified - the Narochansky and Braslav Lakes national parks. The significant experience of Bashkiria, the presence in the republic of a law on geoparks, which regulates the procedure for creating and defining their boundaries and specifies the main tasks and directions of development, will help colleagues from a friendly country to implement their plans.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency told how cooperation between Bashkiria and Belarus in the public sphere is developing.
