Radiy Khabirov inspected “Ecology and Technology” exhibition

The VII specialized exhibition “Ecology and Technology” is part of the Environmental Forum that opened in Ufa. About 80 companies from 12 regions of Russia participate in it.

The head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, inspected the exhibition displays and talked with company representatives.

General Director of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC Evgeniy Semenko told the Head of the region that in June of this year, the enterprise will launch the production of technical sulfur with a capacity of 60 thousand tons per year. This is an environmentally important project. The plant's construction is necessary to utilize additional hydrogen sulfide volumes generated after commissioning a new catalytic cracking complex and modernizing hydrotreating units. The installation will use (process) hydrogen sulfide-containing gas to produce technical sulfur. The degree of sulfur recovery will be at least 99.2%. Technical sulfur will be further sold as finished commercial products. Evgeny Semenko invited the Head of the Republic to the opening ceremony of the new production.

General Director of JSC POLIEF Pavel Romanenko noted that the new production line for Vivilen rPET - granules for food packaging containing up to 30% recycled plastic - has become a unique project. Thanks to the new capacity, up to 1.7 billion plastic bottles per year will not end up in landfills but will be returned after recycling to store shelves in the form of environmentally friendly and safe food packaging, into which milk, vegetable oil, and mineral water will be poured. Such a bottle can be recycled repeatedly, making the cycle almost endless. Green granules have also begun producing plastic packaging for household chemicals, shampoo, and soap offered to hotel visitors. Such containers are then sent back for recycling.

Executive Director of the Bashkir Soda Company Alexander Pimenov reported to the Head of the region that, following the enterprise development strategy until 2030, the amount of pollutants in the atmosphere will decrease by 14.5% by this period. The total reduction of pollutants will be more than 5,700 tons. One of the key projects of BSK aimed at minimizing the environmental impact is the technical re-equipment of the PVC degassing stage at the Caustic production, the funding volume of which will be about 200 million rubles. It is worth noting that developing the company’s specialists will significantly reduce the emissions of vinyl chloride into the atmosphere. BSC plans to allocate almost 1.5 billion rubles for environmental protection to implement the federal “Clean Air” project.

Radiy Khabirov also got acquainted with regional operators' expositions on managing solid waste and discussed current issues of collecting and removing household waste. Republican enterprises also presented their eco-products.

Students of Ufa schools who study in environmental clubs and additional education centers presented Radiy Khabirov with art objects made from waste materials. The head of the republic positively assessed the schoolchildren's ideas, noting their talent, imagination, and skill.

The head of Bashkortostan also examined samples of municipal equipment and assessed the possibility of their use in the republic's housing and communal services system. In particular, the Head of the Republic was presented with new garbage trucks, mini-loaders, wood chippers, and excavators, which will soon be produced at the joint Bashkir-Belarusian enterprise Amkodor-Alga.
