

During a working trip to Kuzbass, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko said Russia has overcome its dependence on holidays abroad. Domestic tourist flow is growing; last year, it exceeded the pre-pandemic level and reached 78 million tourist trips, 21% more than in 2022. Expanding the tourism infrastructure as quickly as possible is necessary to meet the growing demand of Russians. Dmitry Chernyshenko ordered the development of an index of regional provision with tourism infrastructure and government press service reports.
As Bashinform News Agency reported, a record 1.5 billion rubles of federal funds were raised in Bashkiria to develop tourism. In 2023, the tourist flow in the region amounted to 2.2 million trips, and glamping increased 20 times over three years.
