Arcade construction on Belaya embankment has begun in Ufa

In Ufa, an arcade has been constructed on the Belaya embankment in the area of the Friendship Monument. As Bashinform News Agency reported, the first stone in the foundation of the future colonnade in honor of the friendship of Bashkiria and Abkhazia was laid in October 2023.

The colonnade, a unique architectural structure, stands tall at up to 12 m, stretches long at up to 30 m, and spans wide at up to 6 m. Crafted from felsite stone or granite, it mirrors the Makhadzhirov embankment arcade's design in Sukhum, adding to its distinctiveness.

“It is symbolic that nearby at the top is a monument signifying the great fraternal friendship of the Russian and Bashkir peoples. It was erected in honor of the 400th anniversary of the voluntary entry of Bashkiria into the Russian state. It is important to always live in friendship, help each other, and enjoy success. This is exactly how we try to live with our dear Abkhaz brothers. The arcade will be like a sign of our eternal friendship, which has a long history. In the 20s of the last century, when there was a famine in the Volga region, Abkhazia helped us with food; during the Great Patriotic War, many of our soldiers were treated in hospitals and clinics in Abkhazia, and in the 90s, we, the Bashkirs, helped the Abkhazians, provided humanitarian assistance. Together, we have something to be proud of. We are honored that you came to us on Republic Day. We will open the colonnade exactly one year later, on October 11,” promised the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov.
