Eastern exit became paid on April 1

In Ufa, travel on the Eastern exit was free until April 1, but paid tariffs have now been introduced. The fare for passenger cars in the daytime is 100 rubles; at night, from 00.30 to 05.30, it is 20 rubles; and for trucks, it is 250 rubles and 50 rubles, respectively.

A Bashinform News Agency employee tested the toll system on the morning of April 1.

“At 07:15, they tested the toll road. You can pay either in cash or by bank transfer. Five or six cars are waiting, and there are no traffic jams. After payment, cars move freely, without congestion,” said a news agency representative.

Earlier, the Ministry of Transport and Roads of Bashkiria explained how the cost of travel along the Eastern exit from Ufa will be paid.

“Traveling along the Eastern exit will be paid for once without dividing into sections of the road. Drivers can pay for the toll at the toll point,” the regional Ministry of Transport press service reported.

You can pay for travel either in cash or by credit card. In addition, the issue of using a transponder, which will be attached to the windshield of a car and provide automatic payment for travel by debiting funds from a personal account, is currently being explored.

Meanwhile, the region is developing measures to benefit specific categories of citizens traveling along the Eastern Exit, implemented thanks to the support of the national project “Safe Quality Roads.” In particular, the possibility of free travel for SMO participants and owners of cars running on gas engine fuel is being considered.

The largest infrastructure project in Bashkiria and the Volga Federal District is being implemented under a concession agreement. Eastern Exit is a unique project that is not only in Bashkiria but also in Russia. It consists of a tunnel section 1.2 km long, a bridge crossing with an overpass across the Ufa River 2.7 km long, and 10 km of expressway with access to the M-5 Ural federal highway. The estimated speed of vehicles will be 110 km/h, and in the tunnel, it will be 80 km/h, thanks to which motorists can get from the center of Ufa to the M5 Ural federal highway in 10 minutes.
