Bill on additional payment for mentoring has been introduced to State Duma

A bill on additional payment for mentoring has been submitted to the State Duma. This was announced by the Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Andrei Turchak.

“Mentoring at enterprises, when more experienced employees help newcomers learn a profession and introduce them to work principles, will be recorded in the Labor Code as additional work. There will be an additional charge for this. “United Russia has submitted a bill to the State Duma that will enshrine this norm,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Andrei Turchak recalled that a presidential decree had already established the “For Mentoring” award. It is awarded to the best youth mentors from among workers in industry, agriculture, transport, culture and art, teachers, doctors, municipal, and civil servants. Mentoring programs are also available in several regions.

“Our bill, through financial incentives, will make the mentoring institute even more attractive for highly qualified specialists. After the bill's adoption, requirements for mentors will be established at the federal and regional levels, considering industry specifics. The necessary guarantees and their status are also determined. This will increase the mentors' responsibility when training employees,” said the party’s general council Secretary.
