Bashkiria hit Top 5 regions with potential for “new generation” village development

Tatyana Aksyutina

Bashkiria took fifth place in the first ranking of Russia's most promising regions in terms of creating a modern, comfortable environment in villages. Specialists compiled the rating from the Atlas consulting bureau.

As noted in the study, Bashkiria is one of the regions with the largest volumes of agricultural products and long-term investment projects. The first place in the ranking is the Krasnodar Territory, the second is the Rostov Region, the third is the Stavropol Territory, and the fourth is the Voronezh Region.

When talking about “new generation” villages, analysts mean creating a modern, comfortable environment for residents, tourists, and enterprise employees ready to move here to live with their families. It is emphasized that none of the promising regions has yet created a master plan or a comprehensive strategy for improving rural areas. This hinders the development of local villages as modern living spaces.

As predicted effects from the development and implementation of master plans for rural areas in promising regions, experts name an increase in the quality of life, the development of tourism and social services, an increase in the rate of economic growth, an improvement in the environmental situation, and a decrease in the outflow of young people from villages.

For your information: when compiling the rating, experts from the Atlas Bureau selected and analyzed 26 regions of Russia from different federal districts in which the agro-industrial complex is actively developing. For each region, 20 parameters from five main groups of public statistics indicators were collected and analyzed. These include investments in agriculture, economic base, infrastructure, regulatory framework, and sectoral activities.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, 7.6 billion rubles have been allocated over four years to implement the “Integrated Development of Rural Territories” program in Bashkiria.
