Bashneft replenished oil and gas reserves by 135% in 2023
In 2023, JSOC Bashneft replenished reserves by 135% or 24.4 million tons of oil equivalent. The company reported that such results were achieved due to successful geological exploration work.
In 2023, Bashneft geologists discovered 32 new oil deposits in developing fields located primarily in the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra.
Over the past 5 years, Bashneft specialists have discovered 7 oil fields and 298 new oil deposits in developing fields, most of which are in Bashkiria.
From 2019 to 2023, Bashneft increased its industrial oil and gas reserves by more than 170 million tons of oil equivalent.
As Bashneft said, a large-scale revaluation of the reserves of mature fields was made possible by using highly effective geological and technical measures and introducing modern technologies to enhance oil recovery.
Every year, Bashneft ensures the complete replenishment of liquid hydrocarbon production due to increased reserves. Thus, the company effectively fulfills its tasks to ensure the fuel security of the republic, and the country also extends oil production from mature fields in Bashkortostan for many years and maintains the republic’s place among the key energy centers of the country.
