26.5 thousand families received compensation for school uniforms in Bashkiria

About 32 thousand children from families with an average per capita income below the regional subsistence level study in the republic’s schools. At the end of last year, most took advantage of monetary compensation for the purchased school uniform. More than 6.5 thousand first-graders from such families received sets of school and writing supplies. The figures were announced at a government meeting on February 19.

As the minister explained, in the republic, a large low-income family with three or more minor children under 18 as of September 1, including those taken under guardianship (trusteeship), can receive compensation for school uniforms. These families are entitled to monetary compensation for purchasing school uniforms every two years.

According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, starting this year, regions should help families with sports uniforms.

Prime Minister of the Republic Andrey Nazarov instructed the Ministry of Education and Science and Finance to change regulatory legal documents.

Let us remind you that in 2023, the authorities removed the burden on schools to provide payments for school uniforms. Local governments now do this, and the school only confirms with a certificate that the child is studying at school.
