

Bashkortostan is the largest region of Russia in terms of the number of post offices, with a total of 1236. 80% of them operate in rural areas. Today, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, and the General Director of Russian Post, Mikhail Volkov, opened 35 post offices, renovated in 2023 as part of the federal program. In 2022, 20 post offices were modernized. Let us remind you that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered 2025 to update and bring standard state post offices in rural and hard-to-reach areas to a standard.
The General Director of the Russian Post congratulated his colleagues on opening new branches.
The modernized post offices have new windows, air conditioners, and modern furniture, and the lighting, heating, water supply, and sewerage systems have been replaced.
Many departments have become more accessible for people with limited mobility; ramps, wide doorways, and staff call buttons have been installed.
The updated branches have new relevant services for small and remote settlements.
The total amount of investment by Russian Post JSC in the modernization of rural post offices of the republic for 2022-2023 amounted to 238 million rubles. The total number of people served by the modernized departments is 147,956 people. More than 220 villagers working in them have improved working conditions.
In 2024, 21 post offices are planned to be modernized. The estimated investment amount will be 218 million rubles.
