Bashkortostan University Rectors Council has elected new chairman

On February 16, a meeting of the Council of Rectors of Universities of Bashkortostan was held at the Bashkortostan State Pedagogical University, where a new chairman of the body was elected. Rector of BSPU, Salavat Sagitov, was replaced in this post by an Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Rector of BSMU Valentin Pavlov. He thanked his colleagues and the region's leadership for their trust and the opportunity to work further, developing universities and the republic.

The head of the expert department, Sergei Putenikhin, noted: “For us, the Council of Rectors is an important structure that deals with serious tasks. Much has been done under the leadership of Salavat Sagitov. And we wish Valentin Pavlov good luck.”

“Salavat Sagitov has been a member of the Council of Rectors since 2014; as Deputy Prime Minister, he took an active part in organizing the Council of Rectors, which made it possible to raise both the work and the importance of our Council to a new level. Knowing Valentin Pavlov, his authority, knowledge, and experience, I think we will continue to develop well,” said Deputy Chairman of the Council of University Rectors, Rector of BSAU Ildar Gabitov.

The rectors also discussed the work of regional universities in the field of preventing extremism and terrorism, the holding of a dormitory competition and the regional festival “Student Spring”, the development of student tourism in the region with the support of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, as well as the organization of a rally of student teams of the Volga Federal District, which will be held in Ufa this fall of the year.
