Russian Geographical Society Council will be held in Bashkiria in 2024

Director of the Department of Regional Development of the Russian Geographical Society, Artur Latypov, in his speech at a meeting of the board of trustees, noted that in 2024, the branch of the Russian Geographical Society in Bashkortostan will celebrate its 70th anniversary.

The Council of Regions of the Russian Geographical Society was held in the republic to coincide with this significant date. Radiy Khabirov approached the President of the Russian Geographical Society, Sergey Shoigu, with this initiative, who supported the proposal for the location of a large-scale event.

“I believe that holding a meeting of the Council of Regions of the Russian Geographical Society with the participation of the heads of the leading regional branches of the Russian Geographical Society, as well as the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Bashkortostan will contribute to interregional cooperation, organization and conduct of expeditions, environmental activities of regional and all-Russian significance”, Sergey Shoigu noted in his letter to Radiy Khabirov.

The head of Bashkortostan instructed to form a working group to prepare the Council of Regions of the Russian Geographical Society. It is planned to be held in the summer of 2024.
