3.6 billion rubles were raised last year for tourism development in Bashkiria

In 2023, Bashkiria managed to attract a record amount of state support to the region for developing tourism infrastructure - 1.5 billion rubles. The total investment projects amounted to 3.6 billion rubles, 2.1 billion of which were investors’ funds. The head of the regional Ministry of Tourism, Rustem Afzalov, announced this on Monday at an operational meeting of the government.

According to him, due to state subsidies, the republic has implemented a set of measures for the tourist code of the center of the city of Ufa, which has a total cost of more than 700 million rubles.

“The demand for domestic tourism shapes investment activity. The investment portfolio already includes over 400 projects worth more than 43 billion rubles. Of these, 21 projects were included in the priority list. Among the large promising projects, I would like to mention the Center for the Bashkir Horse and Birds of Prey, the Nomad SPA sanatorium on the territory of the future Museum of Nomadic Civilizations, the Yakutov Salt Spring sanatorium, a hotel complex next to the historical and cultural museum center Shulgan-Tash and others. We pay special attention to the development of geoparks. We are consistently creating a modern, comfortable infrastructure for tourists that meets UNESCO requirements,” said Rustem Afzalov.

He also added that from 2024, federal support for the tourism sector will be a single subsidy. Today, Bashkortostan ranks 7th among regions in terms of the volume of federal funds for the current year, which amounted to more than 165 million rubles. Funds will primarily be allocated to infrastructure projects, the development of event tourism, and the formation of a tourist code for cities.

Previously, Bashinform News Agency told how, in Bashkiria, they make the life of the older generation richer.
