Bashkiria National Park employees spoke about beaver Khomych wintering
In the Bashkiria National Park, video cameras continue to observe the life of the beaver Khomych. The camera captured the beaver during its foray for additional food this time.
“In winter, beavers rarely leave their huts,” experts explained. - They swim out for fresh twigs a couple of times a month. Our Khomych also hasn’t left his property for a long time. He prepared a lot of food.”
In winter, beavers feed mainly on tree bark. The most nutritious foods for them are aspen, willow, and birch. Khomych gnaws branches with such pleasure that he can be heard from afar.
