Head of Bashkiria announced Lenin Park improvement starting in Ufa

During an operational meeting of the government, the Head of Bashkiria announced a major reconstruction of the Ufa Lenin Park. Work will begin in the spring, with the start of the construction season.

He also recalled that on February 7, the opening of a monument to the republic's first president, Murtaza Rakhimov, will take place - on the day of the 90th anniversary of his birth. The monument by sculptor Salavat Shcherbakov will be installed next to Lenin Park, opposite the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Belarus building.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, it is also planned to open memorial plaques on the houses where Rakhimov lived.

This year, as last year, within the framework of the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment,” 123 objects will be improved in the republic, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Belarus recalled.

Lenin Park is one of Ufa's iconic objects. It was created in the 60s-70s of the 19th century and initially called Ushakovsky. After the revolution, it became Freedom Park. In the 1950s, with the installation of a monument to Alexander Matrosov, the park was renamed in honor of the hero of the Great Patriotic War. After the construction of the House of the Regional Committee of the CPSU in the 80s, the park was named after Lenin.
