Russian government spoke about Year of Family events

The Government of Russia, on behalf of the head of state, approved a plan of main events to celebrate the Year of Family. Let us remind you that 2024 was declared the Year of Family in Russia by President Vladimir Putin's decree.

As part of this work, it is planned to develop a strategic document regarding demographic and family policy for the period up to 2030 to consolidate at the federal level a unified legal status and basic social guarantees for families with many children and, on the instructions of the president, to extend the validity of the cash payment at the birth of the third child, which can be used for mortgage repayment.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, who was appointed chairman of the organizing committee for the thematic year, the essential tasks in 2024 will be creating conditions for the birth of first children in young families, strengthening reproductive health, supporting large and multi-generational families, and creating a healthy fashion for large families.

The federal plan consists of several blocks. They include honoring parents who were awarded the Mother Heroine badge, medal, and Order of Parental Glory; large-scale all-Russian competitions “This is our family” and “Family of the Year”; celebrations for the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, and many other events.

The first lesson on Knowledge Day and school graduations will also be dedicated to the Year of the Family theme.

The Year of the Family is proposed to be opened by the All-Russian family forum “Relatives and Loved Ones”; it will be held at the exhibition “Russia” at VDNKh from January 19.

Two sections of the plan are aimed at working with parents, including future ones.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to keep the plan's implementation under personal control.

“In our country, family is the main value. And it is essential to ensure that as many children as possible are born so that parents receive maximum support and assistance,” the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
