The most popular Internet service among residents of Bashkortostan continues to be video hosting YouTube. However, its share is steadily declining - if it was 40% recently, now it is a little more than 20%. The Minister of Digital Development of the Republic, Gennady Razumikin, announced this at an operational meeting of the republic's government.
At the same time, the share of VKontakte is actively growing, but the record holder for growth is Telegram, which has almost doubled this year.
VPN usage has grown almost 7-fold year-on-year.
The growth of mobile Internet traffic averaged 12%. Last year, traffic grew by a record 31%.
“Accordingly, the network load is growing steadily - about 8% annually. This forces operators to carry out a lot of work annually to optimize and modernize networks. As a result, the network load does not exceed 50%, which helps ensure stability and high-quality services. The cost of communication services for 2023 increased by an average of 3%,” said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic.
