Most COVID-19 patients in Russia were infected with the Omicron strain. The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, stated this.
According to her, the incidence of influenza and ARVI continues to rise throughout the country this week. An increase of cases is observed in all age groups by 8.8% compared to last week.
As of last week, more than 107 thousand cases of COVID-19 were registered in the country. The predominant sequences of the omicron genovariant remain.
Earlier, it was reported that in Bashkiria, 401 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. There are currently 271 hospital patients, including 142 people over 60. 4,276 residents are receiving outpatient treatment, of which 1,921 are elderly.
