Radiy Khabirov instructed to evaluate new geopark creating possibility in Bashkiria

At an operational government meeting, a proposal was made to create another geopark in Bashkiria, this time in the Beloretsky district. The anchor object of the geopark could be the Iremel Natural Park. Financial support for its activities is expected through grant funds, attracting investors, and crowdfunding.

A geopark is a kind of open-air museum where unique geological, historical, and cultural attractions are available. Now, there are two parks in Bashkiria - Yangantau, the first in Russia and the CIS countries to join the global network of UNESCO geoparks and Toratau. Documents for its inclusion in the UNESCO network are still under consideration, as previously reported by Bashinform News Agency. In territories that have received the status of parks, the flow of tourists has increased significantly, and the volume of investments has increased.

Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, instructed the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Rustem Afzalov, and the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, Niyaz Fazylov, to discuss the feasibility of creating a geopark in the Beloretsky district from the point of view of the benefits of such a facility for the development of the region and the republic.
