Scientists of the Eurasian Research Center of Bashkiria are working on creating polymers intended for biomedicine and agriculture. According to the government of Bashkortostan, a composite materials laboratory of the Ufa Institute of Science and Technology will be located on the student campus for this purpose.
We are talking about systems for the controlled delivery of medicinal substances, film materials with improved biopharmaceutical characteristics, and film-forming compositions for pre-sowing seed treatment. In addition, the processes of destruction, stabilization, and modification of polymers are studied. Specialists' primary focus is on creating approaches to controlling the complex of composites' rheological, physical-mechanical, and physical-chemical properties.
“Research results have already resulted in wound-healing coatings, including drug-filled ones. The scientific basis for creating soft polymer dosage forms based on water-soluble natural and synthetic physiologically active polymers has been developed. And a simple but effective method for recycling waste polypropylene film fiber has been proposed,” the message noted.
According to the republic's government, the laboratory materials' customers are ZPI Alternative LLC, Avtoplast, Polimak, BSK, NIIT, Sayver, and others.
Let us remind you that life-saving medicines will also be developed at the inter-university student campus in Ufa. Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that the readiness of the first stage of a large-scale facility is 74%.
