Vital medicines will be developed at interuniversity student campus in Ufa

On the 4th floor of the IQ Park of the inter-university student campus, it is planned to locate a pharmaceutical center with a laboratory for synthesizing target-oriented biologically active substances. Here, they will be engaged in the search for original domestic active pharmaceutical substances, their development for preclinical studies, and the production of pharmacopoeial reference materials. The press service of the government of the Republic reported this.

The main research areas include synthesizing new substances with psychotropic, cardiovascular, cardio- and neuroprotective activity. Based on the leading compounds found in laboratories, original Russian medicines will be created to treat cardiovascular diseases, depression, cerebral circulatory disorders, and the hemostasis system. The laboratory will develop methods for synthesizing new biologically active compounds, create digital models of biological processes of interaction of molecules with target proteins, etc. Methodological and educational activities will also be carried out here. It will involve teachers, students, graduate students, external specialists, and research experts.

Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that the readiness of the first stage of the inter-university student campus is 74%.
