ARVI and influenza cases growing in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, there is an increase in the incidence of ARVI and influenza. In this regard, the number of house calls from doctors is increasing - more than 20 thousand last week. The Minister of Health of the Republic, Ayrat Rakhmatullin, announced this today at an operational meeting of the government. He noted that seasonal vaccination against influenza continues in the region.

“The contact center received more than 90 thousand calls. We are recording an increase of 5-7% compared to the previous week, which is also due to the increase in ARVI and influenza,” said Airat Rakhmatullin.

In addition, the republic is experiencing an increase in the incidence of COVID-19. The Bashinform News Agency reported that 68 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Bashkiria over the past 24 hours. According to the Republic's Ministry of Health, 105 patients are receiving inpatient treatment in medical institutions in the region, and 980 people are undergoing outpatient treatment.

Airat Rakhmatullin reported that the available bed capacity in four infectious diseases hospitals in Bashkiria is 11-15%. The number of beds is expanding depending on the increase in COVID-19 infections.

Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Andrey Nazarov noted that preparedness for an outbreak of COVID-19 disease should be high. He recalled that restrictive measures have already been introduced in Moscow and some regions.
