Bashkortostan authority's websites taught how to texts readability evaluate

The website platform developers for the Republic of Bashkortostan authorities have implemented functionality for assessing text readability. With its help, government officials responsible for website content can now determine the ease of reading and their audience's level of perception of materials. As a rule, improving the readability of a text is associated with simplifying its structure and language.

As Bashinform News Agency learned, a new modification of the website platform has been implemented. It is intended for employees of republican authorities and municipalities who publish information materials, news, and other messages in their field of activity. Assessing the perception of the text by readers will give an understanding of whether the text is difficult or simple to perceive, which audience is more interested in it, and what age it is.

“The uniqueness of the new function is that the system recognizes the readability of the text and immediately gives it a verdict of understandability - difficult to read, quite difficult to read, the text is understandable, easy to read, and more,” said Christina Viskontas, a representative of the company that develops websites for government agencies in Bashkiria.

As for assessing the level of text readability, there are several methods, such as the Flesch index, Lindgren index, etc. They are based on an analysis of sentence length, word complexity, and other text parameters and are now built into the website service.
