Ufa has new honorary citizen

Bashkir poetess Gulfiya Idelbayeva was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Ufa". The deputies of the City Council of Ufa adopted the corresponding decision at the 29th meeting.

Gulfiya Idelbaeva is a Bashkir poetess and translator, playwright, journalist, member of the Union of Writers and the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, People's Poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Poems and songs for children's audiences brought her extraordinary fame. She introduces children to the world of animals, nature, and people using folklore images. In her student years, Gulfiya Aznagulovna released two collections for children: "I'm only three years old" and "Blue Ball".

The literary heritage of Gulfiya Aznagulovna also contains poems addressed to an adult audience. They have a subtle sense of life, a keen sense of its transience and mobility.

She is the author of 25 books translated into twenty languages of the peoples of different countries. More than 150 songs were created by famous composers based on her poems. Collections of poems have been translated into 25 languages of the peoples of Russia and the world.

Gulfiya Idelbayeva is the only journalist, writer, worker, and cultural figure in the history of Bashkortostan who has been repeatedly elected as a deputy at various levels.
