No new measles outbreaks have been registered in Ufa over the past week. For eight months of 2023, 21 measles cases were recorded in the capital of Bashkiria. The statistics slightly exceed the republican indicators by 12.5% but are 6.5 times higher than the average multi-year level. At the same time, children remain the leading risk group. Venera Sattarova, head of the department for epidemiological surveillance and sanitary protection of the territory, announced this at an operational meeting in the capital's administration.
According to Venera Sattarova, immunization against measles continues in the city. To date, 4224 people have been vaccinated (90% of the plan)
The Bashinform News Agency learned that Ufa continues registering COVID-19, influenza, and SARS cases.
Over the past week, 3,399 cases of influenza and acute respiratory infections have been recorded in the city. The share of children under 14 years old accounts for 37.1%. Growth compared to the previous week is small - by 2.1%.
COVID-19 was detected in 58 citizens. In this case, growth is observed at 7.4%.
“Ufa medical organizations received a flu vaccine for adults and children. September and October remain the most favorable periods for immunization before the rise in the incidence rate,” said Venera Sattarova.
Venera Sattarova also reminded that with the beginning of the new academic year, new children's groups are being formed, which means there are threats to the spread of diseases. In this regard, organizations need to strengthen prevention - ventilate the premises and pay attention to the quality of disinfectants.
