Schoolchildren in Russia will be taught to combat corruption from September 1

A federal educational program will become mandatory for all schools and teachers in Russia, which, among other things, involves studying the basics and methods of combating corruption from September 1, 2023. Anastasia Zyryanova, Deputy Minister of Education of the country, spoke about this at the All-Russian Anti-Corruption Forum in Ufa.

These issues will be reflected in social studies, history, and literature. Schoolchildren will be told about the dangers of such a phenomenon and the mechanisms to counter bribery and abuse of power for personal gain.

“We consider anti-corruption education in the education system as one of the key moments in the formation of the future citizen of our country. In 2022, we updated the standards of primary general, basic general, and secondary general education, where not only clearly defined subject results appeared but also clearly formulated requirements for personal ones. Students will be able to apply what they have learned in practical exercises. This is fixed in the federal state educational standard,” said Anastasia Zyryanova.

At the forum, it became known that the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation developed recommendations on combating corruption for subordinate regional organizations, Bashinform News Agency reported.
