The nameless peak in the Caucasus Mountains was given the name of the national Bashkortostan poet Mustai Karim. The corresponding order of the Russian Government was published on June 29 on the official portal of legal information in Russia.
The peak named after Mustai Karim, with coordinates 43°10.7' north latitude, 42°57.6' east longitude, and an absolute height of 3703 meters, is located on the territory of the Kabardino-Balkarian high-mountain reserve in the Chegemsky district.
“The decision was made following the federal law “On the Names of Geographical Objects” and based on a proposal from the Government of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, as well as to perpetuate the memory of the participants in the Great Patriotic War and cultural representatives of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the Republic of Bashkortostan,” the text of the document says.
Two more peaks were named for the Kabardian poet Alim Keshokov and the Balkarian poet Kaysyn Kuliev.
