Bashkiria ranks third in Volga Federal District in life expectancy

The Minister of Health of the Republic, Airat Rakhmatullin, summed up the results of the industry’s work for 2022 at the visiting Health Hour Session. According to Rosstat, life expectancy in Bashkortostan was 73.1 years (2021 - 64.49 years). This is a new regional record, Bashinform News Agency's special correspondent reports. Last year, the overall mortality rate fell by 26 percent.

Radiy Khabirov said that this is the main indicator of the effectiveness of the healthcare system and the result of the work of the entire management system of the region.

“This figure includes all external causes: traffic accidents, fires, and crime. In these areas, indicators are improving. You should be proud of this result. We always compare ourselves with the regions of the Volga Federal District - our economic structure is largely the same. A few years ago, we were in the penultimate place among the 14 regions of the districts in terms of average life expectancy. Now Bashkortostan is in third place,” said Radiy Khabirov.

At Health Hour Session, Radiy Khabirov checked the fulfillment of instructions given during past industry meetings and presented state awards of the republic to the most distinguished workers of the city health system.
