The Russian Pacific Fleet will be strengthened by the Ufa submarine. The submarine will join the Pacific Fleet this fall. Izvestia reports this concerning its source in the military department.
The submarine was handed over to the fleet last year but is still in the Baltic. Now the transition of the submarine to the place of permanent deployment is planned. In particular, crossing the Northern Sea Route is being considered.
As Bashinform News Agency wrote, in March 2022, the Ufa submarine was launched and tested in the Baltic Sea for several months. In November, it officially became part of the Russian Navy. The submarine is the fourth in Project 636.3 diesel-electric submarines for the Pacific Fleet.
