Roskomnadzor expanded Social Networks Register

The Register of social networks includes new platforms Dzen, Rutube, and Twitch. On May 3, Roskomnadzor notified resource owners about their inclusion in the Register, indicating the requirements of Russian law.

Since February 2021, the law on self-control of social networks (No. 530-FZ) has been in force, according to which Internet sites are required to identify and block prohibited information independently. For user complaints about the placement of such content, social networks must have a feedback form.

Thus, as part of the functional interaction with the administrations of social networks, materials containing child pornography and suicidal and pro-drug content were removed or blocked.

To control compliance with the law, Roskomnadzor maintains a register of social networks (www.530-fz.rkn.gov.ru). Previously, the Register included: VKontakte; "Classmates"; Facebook (banned in the Russian Federation, currently excluded from the Register); Instagram (prohibited in the Russian Federation, presently excluded from the Register); Twitter; TikTok; Likee; YouTube; Telegram; LiveJournal; "Peekaboo"; Pinterest.
