Radiy Khabirov announced name of first bison cub to be born in Bashkiria
The first bison cub, whose birth is expected in Bashkiria, will be called Bashkirenok. The brought bison is waiting for offspring. This was announced on May 28 at the closing of Kitap-bairam by the Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov.
At an event from the Belarusian publishing house, Radiy Khabirov was presented with the book "Belovezhskaya Diva".
“Another piece of our country, our culture, our heritage is bison. And they came to you,” the representatives of Belarus noted.
“For our nature, for the republic, a great event happened - the first nine bison arrived. We believe that we will have the first bison. The workers have come up with a name for him so far - Bashkirenok, but if you have any suggestions, I will gladly accept them,” said the Head of Bashkiria.
As Bashinform News Agency reported, 18 individuals will be brought to Bashkiria in 2023 to breed Belarusian bison. They will be placed on the Iksky State Zoological Reserve territory, which borders the Muradymovskoye Gorge Natural Park in the Kugarchinsky District.
