

The universities of Bashkiria have taken high positions in the subject ranking of universities in Russia. At the end of 2022, the RAEX rating agency included 5 universities of the republic that are part of the Eurasian REC system.
USPTU became the leader in the number of subject areas participating in the ranking. The Petroleum University leads in 8 regions: geology (14th place), oil and gas business (7th place), ecology (18th place), and chemical technology (9th place). In the direction of mechanical engineering and robotics, the university rose from 19th to 16th place. In the order of the light technology industry, the university ranks 3rd among six universities and ranks 19th in the order of "power engineering, power engineering, and electrical engineering", for the first time, the university is represented in the rating direction of biotechnology and bioengineering (18th place),
USATU and BashSU, now it is the Ufa University of Science and Technology, occupy high positions in the areas of "aviation and rocket and space technology" (12th place), "geography" (11th place), "linguistics and foreign languages" (15th place), " history and archeology” (19th place).
Bashkir State Medical University was ranked among the best in the areas of "Medicine" (8th place among 20 universities) and "Pharmacy" (5th place).
Bashkir State Agrarian University is traditionally strong in such areas of training as "agriculture" (5th place) and "veterinary medicine and animal husbandry" (7th place).
In total, 164 universities from 42 regions of Russia were included in the lists of the best (in 2022, 136 educational organizations were included in 29 rankings).
The study used three groups of indicators traditionally appearing in all ratings of the Three Missions of the University family: education, science, and society. At the same time, subject ratings consider each area's specifics - the set of indicators and their weights differ depending on the subject area. For example, for the natural sciences and engineering areas, the importance of the “science” group is 35%, while for the social and humanitarian spheres, it is 25%.
