President of the Union of Mixed Martial Arts of Russia, adviser to the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, and multiple world champion in mixed martial arts, Fedor Emelianenko, is in Bashkortostan today. As Bashinform News Agency previously reported, the eminent fighter was invited to the opening of the Russian championship among juniors aged 18-20 and unofficial all-Russian competitions among juniors aged 18-20 in mixed martial arts (MMA). The tournament is dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The Head of Bashkortostan dedicated a post to Emelianenko's visit on his social media page, calling him "big, strong, kind - a real Russian hero."
“We agreed to develop children's sports, train mixed martial arts coaches, and hold master classes and meetings with children. He also invited Fedor to the opening next year of our Palace of Wrestling. What has always aroused admiration in Fedor is that, despite the rather tough kind of his sport, he always remained a real man, one might even say a gentleman, showing generosity and respect for his rivals. These are our legendary athletes who should pass on the best masculine qualities to our children,” Radiy Khabirov told his readers.
